This website is the unclassified version of the Naval Authority System (NAS) Library hosted by BMT on behalf of the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD). It is the central unclassified repository for the UK MoD Ship Safety Management Joint Service publication (JSP430) and other related documents. JSP430 is hosted on this website as required by the MoD Ship Safety Management Office who should be contacted directly (or by using the contact us button) if you experience difficulty in accessing or downloading any part of this document.

The UK Ministry of Defence assures the safety of its maritime assets (Ships and Submarines) through the implementation of Safety Regimes developed to the requirements of JSP430 Part 1 and independent regulation of Key Hazard Areas in accordance with JSP430 Part 3.

This library contains key Ship Safety Management Policy and Guidance material. A full understanding of Ship Safety Management requirements and regulation of the UK MoD's assets can be gained from reading the documentation contained within this Library.
